Here’s a follow up to my previous post about my Halloween Daiso Haul! I finally put out all of my Halloween decorations and I love how our living room looks now!
Our usual living room dΓ©cor is pretty bare to be honest. It’s mostly just beige and grey basic furniture and we haven’t added any art to the walls yet. So for our first holiday celebration in our new home, I wanted to spruce things up a bit, but still keep the look of the room simple and cute. I think I was able to incorporate some whimsical Halloween colors and elements without going too over-the-top or too tacky.
While I decorated a lot in the living room, I really didn’t decorate much in other parts of the house. Our bedroom is a very peaceful place of rest and I wanted to keep it that way. Our kitchen is pretty small and there isn’t much room to decorate. Our closet room… is a closet room π so I don’t think it needs decorations. Even so, I think having our living room as the “Halloween Zone” works out perfectly, since that’s where we spend a lot of our time here, anyways.
So let’s take a look around at my Halloween-ready living room!

Here is an overview of the whole room, looking in from the kitchen.

On the sofa, I changed out our summer cushion covers for these fall-appropriate ones. I ordered these from Ali Express last year when I was searching for nice fall/Halloween covers. I like the designs and shade of orange, but honestly they are not my favorite. The material feels very cheap and scratchy. But hey, at least they look cute!
Across the sofa back, I draped some star-shaped LED string lights.

Next to the window, I placed a silver vase and filled it with fake fall foliage. I had to stuff the base with newspaper to make everything stand up straight, but I think it turned out alright.

Fuzzy pumpkins!

Next to our usual grey curtains, I hung this sheer lilac purple curtain for some extra color and softness. I really love the effect, especially in the evening, and I think it coordinates well with the other colors in the room.

My favorite part of the room is the TV stand. I added all kinds of lights, candles, and knick-knacks, and my favorite thing to do is to light everything up at night and watch a fantasy or scary movie. Currently playing on the TV is a Disney’s Haunted Mansion-themed ambient music video by Ambient Worlds.

So in love with these decorations!

More fuzzy pumpkins!

Glad I saved these wooden figures from last year.

I’m still so thrilled about nabbing this candle stand! I think it is stunning and I love that it matches the new vase as well.

I didn’t find a proper use for the silver ribbon I bought at Daiso, but it is living a new life as a small candle stand!

I ended up using the two pouches as a potpourri sachet hanging on the side of the refrigerator. I tried it with just one pouch, which allowed more scent to disperse, but it was hard to see the purple color. I doubled them up, and now the color is more vivid while still releasing a mild scent!

Out on the balcony, I did add one strand of garland, but again, as it’s a peaceful spot in our home, I didn’t want to overdo it. Luckily, our beanbag chair is already a vivid orange, so it was easy to incorporate the orange garland.

These purple bats are so cute!

Here is one last look at the living room! Very simple but still warm, cozy, and festive.
I hope you enjoyed taking a peak at our decorations for Halloween! I’m excited to make more Halloween content this month, so stay tuned for more.
Hope you’re doing well, and thanks for reading!
