In 2019, I made a goal for myself to read 12 books over the course of the year. For some, this may seem like a rather low bar, just one book a month. But it’s been so long since I’ve read consistently, so I wanted to start off slow. I was worried I wouldn’t make it, but in the fall I signed up for a library card at my local library and my motivation to read was reignited. I found new ways to incorporate reading into my daily life and I was able to meet my goal, right at the end of December with just a few days left to spare. Read on to find out what I read in 2019!Read More »
So we’re a good chunk of the way through January already, but I thought it would be a good idea to look back over my 2019 goals and see how far I got before moving on to my new goals for the new year.
Last year, I made two separate lists: one list of “intentions,” or goals that I felt couldn’t quite be quantified or measured, and one list of “goals,” which turned out to be a lot more like a bucket list. Since then I’ve learned a lot about how to properly design and plan goals, so while I wasn’t able to accomplish much last year, I am hoping for a lot more success in 2020.
Without further ado, let’s dive into the two lists and see how I did!Read More »
Happy New Year! We have officially entered into a new decade! Some people don’t find this to be a particularly important fact, but to me it seems rather momentous. It strikes me that 80 years from now, a new generation will look back at what we wore and what we listened to as a moment in history, the same way we look back at the flappers of the 1920s. So I guess we better make this decade something to remember!Read More »
Today I wanted to give a quick tour of my bookshelf where I keep all of my Korean leisure books and textbooks. I love seeing what learning and reading materials other people like to use, so I thought I’d share my collection as well!Read More »
Yesterday, I registered for the TOPIK II. With only 3 months left until the exam, I have a lot of studying and preparation to do. While I usually do most of my planning and listing in my bullet journal, I thought it would be nice to use a separate planner to track my daily studies and keep me focused for the next few months. During my last trip to Tokyo, I picked up a really lovely study planner which I will be showing in today’s post.
Let’s go~!Read More »

Yesterday, I finally got through to the end of one of my study materials that I’ve been holding on to for a very long time! I started working my way through this book months ago and I feel very satisfied having finally gotten to the end. It’s quite a small book, so it only made a very small dent in my large pile of Korean textbooks, but it’s a dent all the same.
Power Up! Korean Vocabulary is published by Korea University and includes 500 useful Korean vocabulary words as well as an illustrated index with even more words. Today I will be going into detail about the structure and contents of this book, as well as my preferred methods for studying with this text.Read More »
Hey guys, it’s Veronica.
Today, I wanted to share my goals and intentions for 2019. It might seem like they’re the same thing, but there is a difference between the two! And while most people preach the importance of setting “SMART” goals, I think that also setting intentions, which are not as easily measured, can contribute to cultivating the mindset needed for achieving your goals. But I’m not a psychologist, so what do I know!
In this post, I’ll be going through some of my most important intentions for the year, as well as detailing each of my goals. If you’re looking for ideas or inspiration for your own 2019 goals, read on!Read More »
I can’t believe another year has already come and gone. January is more than half-way through as well! Time always seems to get away from me somehow…Read More »
It’s been about a year since I traveled to Hong Kong alone and I recently realized I never posted my photos from that trip. I’m not a talented photographer but I’m really happy with a lot of the photos I took, and I have so many good memories attached to each one. Since I didn’t visit a new country during my last two vacations, I think it would be nice to relive that trip and share my photos here. I’ll be telling my story through captions along the way!
