Last month, I made a post talking about my goals for 2022. One of my language goals was to finish four Korean textbooks that I already own, so today I wanted to share with you which books I plan to work on and why. I might change my mind further down the road, but for now, here are the four Korean textbooks that I hope to finish this year!Read More »
My Korean Language Journey Thus Far
Hey guys, it’s Veronica.
I’ve been studying Korean off and on for a few years now so I thought it was time to take a look back at my journey and to also refocus my goals for the future. I’ll be sharing some information about why I first became interested in Korean, different methods I’ve used over the years, how I’m learning currently, and what I want to accomplish in the future. I won’t be sharing very many specific resources in this post as I plan to make more focused posts (and videos) about each category of learning materials like apps, books, websites, and more, so please keep an eye out for these topics in future posts. Until then, if you are interested in hearing how I got started and my journey thus far, please read on!
(I also made a video about my journey, so if you’re a TL;DR kind of person, you should scroll down to watch that instead of reading through the following novel. Haha!)Read More »
I’m Just Procrastinating
In less than 24 hours I will be traveling to Taiwan, which means I really ought to be packing and prepping right now, but instead I’m doing everything I can to avoid doing what I have to. I’m excited for the trip, but part of me is even more excited for what will happen after the trip.
2016 Goals (sort of)
So I read somewhere that it’s actually bad to share your goals. Saying them out loud causes you to believe that you’ve accomplished something and that you are closer to your goals than you actually are. You end up taking it easy and you may not work as hard to achieve your goals. You may not even achieve them at all! So I won’t be sharing my detailed list of goals for 2016 for this reason. But I will share a list of areas in my life that I will be focusing on this year.
It might be hard to see in this picture, but I added hangeul stickers to my keyboard today! It was painstaking work and my hands are sore but they turned out quite nice. Now typing in Korean will be so much easier!
Does anyone have any recommendations for Korean typing practice? I’m still chicken pecking at my keyboard haha.
The Number Wall
Yeah. I hit it.
Nice to Meet You
Even though this isn’t technically my first post on this blog, I thought I’d do one of these introductory posts so you can get to know me just a little bit better.
So I’ve been hearing about this app for a while now, but never checked it out because it doesn’t offer my target languages (Korean, Japanese, and now Latin), but I decided to download it anyways, just to check it out.
Korean Language Resources (Repost)
It’s been a few months since I decided I wanted to learn Korean. You’d think I’d have made some kind of progress by now, right?
For two reasons. 1) I’m quite lazy and undisciplined. 2) Where the heck to start???
There’s not much I can do to conquer the first problem besides just bucking up and exerting painful amounts of willpower to the task. As for the second, I believe I have slowly begun to solve the mystery.
Quick Korean: My New Addiction (Repost)
Yesterday I read Korean Vitamin’s post about Quick Korean, and it sounded so amazing, I decided to try it myself. And now I’m addicted.
