my new tn! 🧭📖 Two months ago I took a break from bullet journaling and decided to go completely digital. It was refreshing and I feel like I've learned a lot about what I need and what works for me. But I miss paper! And being crafty! And giving my eyes a break from screens! I had been contemplating the traveler's notebook system but it seemed pricey and hard to find here in SK. They have some products at the Gwanghwamun Hottracks but not many. I decided to take a look anyways and instead I came across a brand called istyle. They had really affordable tn-style products and also some cute coil bound planners. Finding these products felt like a sign, so I went ahead and bought a bunch of goodies to get myself started. 💐finished!💐 . I actually meant to finish KGIU Beginner last week but I was feeling run down and needed a break from everything. But I had a kind of energy boost this week and I worked every day to get to the end of this book. Now I'm ready to start another! I'm thinking I'd like to start working hard on one of my TOPIK books, and I also want to start working on KGIU Intermediate but with no pressure to rush through it this time. 📚 I recently ordered a few more TOPIK study guides because I literally have no self control. lol 🤦‍♀️ I got KGIU Intermediate, Complete Guide to the TOPIK, and I already owned New TOPIK II Essential Grammar 150. But surprisingly, I'm most excited to start using this one, 한국어 뱅크 TOPIK II 한 권이면OK. I've never heard of this publisher but I'm really impressed by what they've put together here. I've just flipped through it a bit and the format seems like it'll be really nice to study with. . 🦉Each section (listening, writing, reading) is broken down into smaller sections based on question type. 🦉Each smaller section consists of 3 to 4 questions, and has a daily list of vocab and grammar to learn/memorize. They've also made a handy booklet to help you study the vocab and grammar lists on the go. 🦉Then they break down example questions, explaining the question type, the question itself, and the correct answer. 🦉Lastly, they provide several sets of practice questions to test what you learned. . I don't have high hopes for my first TOPIK experience tbh. Even though I completed KIIP, I know it's not a true measure of my ability so I'll honestly be happy to even pass the TOPIK II with a 3. Even so, I feel motivated to keep trying now that I have some books I'm genuinely excited to study with, especially this one. I've got about a month left to prepare so I'm going to try to make it count. Good luck to anyone also preparing for a proficiency test or even just working toward a personal language goal. I finished this as part of my effort to clear out some of my Korean textbooks. I'm glad I've finished but I don't feel greatly accomplished bc it was quite easy for me (and this isn't really helping me properly prepare for TOPIK but oh well..) 😅😅 But can you tell why I bought this book in the first place?? Yep! Actor Joon Gi Lee voiced many of the dialogues for listening practice which was quite the treat. Today I decided to dust off Hello Korean 1 because, truth be told, I never actually finished this book... I'm trying to ~officially~ complete some of my beginner resources so I can discard then and then start tackling tougher material. 🍋 Back in the day, I did some of the book exercises in pencil and I was too lazy to erase it so I got a colored pen to rewrite my answers. The difference between my handwriting then (maybe 4 years ago?) and now is seriously shocking!!🤯 I'm not saying my handwriting now is by any means good or natural but it's certainly smaller and faster! 🍋 It's easy to feel like you're not improving or moving forward. I feel like that a lot, and I can tell you the intermediate plateau is real.
